Mori Hamada is delighted to announce the establishment of its new office in Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture, Japan, set to commence operations on April 1, 2025. This strategic expansion underscores our commitment to enhancing legal services, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, a pivotal market for our clients.

Kochi, renowned for its rich cultural heritage, boasts long-established industries in numerous sectors, including agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture, forestry, paper and electronics. Our new office will provide detailed support from a closer position to our clients located there and in the wider Shikoku region of Japan, working closely with our existing office in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture. It is intended that both offices will contribute strongly to economic development and revitalization of the region.

Naosuke Ichikawa, who is originally from Kochi, a senior counsel with extensive experience in shareholders’ meetings and other corporate law-related affairs, business revitalization, litigation and disputes, M&A, and start-ups, will lead our Kochi office.

Our Kochi office will work in close collaboration with our offices in Japan, ASEAN, the US, and other key locations across the globe, ensuring seamless service delivery and innovative solutions for our clients. 
* Our Kochi office will be established as a branch office of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto LPC.
