Message from Ms. Lexi Takamatsu

My name is Lexi Takamatsu, and I am excited to join you at Mori Hamada & Matsumoto.

After qualifying as an attorney in 2015, I completed a one-year clerkship for a U.S. Federal Judge in the Central District of California, assisting the Judge in drafting opinions for the civil litigation cases on her docket. I then joined the U.S. law firm, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in Los Angeles, California, where I handled business litigation and arbitration matters on a variety of subjects, such as contract disputes, class actions, white collar defense and investigation, corporate governance and partnership disputes, and securities litigation. In 2018 I joined the disputes department of Morrison Foerster’s Tokyo office, where I worked on cross-border intellectual property and contract-based disputes. During my time at Morrison Foerster, I was also seconded to a large Japanese company for eight months to assist the compliance department with a major internal fraud investigation.

My native language is English, but I can also speak, read, and write in Japanese. (I received my JLPT N1 certification in 2018.) In other words, please don’t hesitate to reach out in either language, if I can be of service!
