棚橋 元弁護士が、米国ニューヨーク市コロンビア・ロー・スクールにて2008年10月31日、11月1日の2日間にわたって開催された"Business Law and Innovation Conference"にスピーカーとして招待され、"Venture Capital Financing in Japan"と題する講演を行いました。このConferenceには米国内外の法学部、経済学部の教授が多数出席され、コロンビア・ロー・スクールのロナルド J. ギルソン教授、2006年ノーベル経済学賞受賞のエドムンド S. フェルプス教授等の講演をはじめ、多くの講演が行われました。
　なお、本Conferenceは、The Center for Law and Economic Studies、The Center for Contract and Economic Organization及びThe Amsterdam Center for Law and Economicsによって主催されました。
